Tom Sawyer Post 3

1. Explain the relationship between Tom and Huck.

1a. I think that they were companions, but now they are close friends. They would share the blame, and help each other through things.

2. What do you think yawl means?

2a. I think it means like to do something. In the text, it said to yawl duty. Maybe it means haul. I'm not quite sure.

3. What do you think a skiff is?

3a. A skiff is a small boat. Sort of like a fishing boat, and most are only big enough to fit three people.

Tom Sawyer Post 2

1. What do you think it means to 'meow'?
I think it means to like scream, or yell, like you said. I'm not positive, but in the text, that's what they did.
2. What were you thinking when you read about Tom and Becky?
I was not very surprised in the beginning because I had heard for years about Tom and Becky but I'd never actually read it before. But When Tom started to talk about being 'engaged' I thought it might just be like when your 3 and you pretend to marry your friends that's a boy (not boyfriend). It made me LAUGH OUT LOUD.
3. I don't really get what happened in the chapter, "Tragedy in the Graveyard." What did the boys see? I really don't know. And when you read some more, it talks about some one that was murdered... WHO WAS MURDERED???
