Wave OP FINAL!!!!

1. I think that quote means that you should never ever ever never let anything separate you from your friends. Like if you get involved in a sport or some commitment, you should still recognize your friends.

2. Analyzing Robert: I think Robert is this guy who is a total and complete misfit. He is kind of weird, no really weird during the entire book. He depended on the Wave to make him an equal amongst his classmates, but I think he got a little carried away, or at least a little over-dependant on the Waves potential. Like my pic. says, all of the kids just dove into the Wave and they didn't really know why or what the outcome would be. Robert had faith in the Wave, but Mr. Ross ended it and he also ended Robert's equality.
I think Robert realized that in order to have friends, he's gotta make an effort to fit in. The future for Robert will be... well, I'm not sure, but he's going to have some friends and get better grades if he tries.

3a. I think fascism and the Wave are almost exactly alike. The Wave and Fascism are both things that have dictators and hurt people who are different. I think that's horrible, but they're a lot alike.

3b. (I think a lot of people are going to put this one...) The Holocaust is A LOT like a Wave. The Wave started because of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is a form of fascism because it had a dictator and it was hurting and killing people who are different (much like the Wave).

4. Avoiding Mob Mentality: A Practical Guide by A Middle Student, for Other Middle School Students

Mob Mentality is when a group of people effect another group of people and they form a big group that can overthrow people and change things. I think that I could just keep thinking for
myself and being super aware of my surroundings. I think that people are only effected by mob mentality if they are in the state when they would do anything to be popular. People will go along with things that they have no idea about to be with they're friends, that's what happened with the Wave, people had no idea what would happen if Mr. Ross didn't put a stop to it all. The advice I would give to other people would be that same I would give myself. Keep your mind on the reality of people and things that might become a second Holocaust (hehe). If you get too rapped up in everything that isn't that important, than you'll find yourself in a world away from ours.

Who Commented??? CO #5

Who commented on my last Wave post?
Well, only Danielle has commented so far.
:(.

OP #5 (the last one!!)

2. My favorite quote from the last few chapters was the last one. The quote was, '"What do you say we go out for a bite to eat?" Ben said, leading him off the stage. "There are some things I think we should talk about."' I loved that because you have absolutely no idea of what they're going to talk about. I like those kinds of endings, but I hate them because I'm a Nosey Nelly and I like to know things.

3. What do you think they're going to talk about? (Ben and Robert in the last line)

OP #4

1. I think Ben is feeling like the whole thing is kind of getting out of hand. Like a monster's been created and he created it. I think that a lot of teachers think that the whole thing is his fault.

2. My fave quote was, "A high school history teacher who had accidentally been slipped into the role of a dictator," I love that because that's showing that the whole thing was an accident. It might turn out to be something great, a great discovery, like raisins. Or it might turn out to be a bad discovery, like prunes.

3. The book's almost over. How do you think it will end?
