Renaissance Project Reflection

Project Title: The Renaissance Project

Dates: June 4, 2008

Class: Humanities

Purpose...

The purpose of this project was to learn about the time of the Renaissance and the Middle Ages (how they differed). We 'went back in time' and became a famous Renaissance figure, which we then researched and wrote a bipgraphy about that person. In order to learn even more about Anne Boleyn (my famous Renaissance figure) I will (it's in Thursday) dress up as her and act like her during the Reanaissance Ball. Also, we learned about Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo, Dante Alighieri, and many other famous Renaissance people.

What I Learned...

I learned a TON about Anne Boleyn (the second wife of King Henry VIII, also the Queen of England for 3 years). She was said to be very evil and scheming becuase she won over the love of King Henry VIII and gave him a child (who later became Queen Elizabeth I) and gave him many stillborns. She was beheaded in 1536 because the court thought that she committed adultery and treason. Anne was involved in many love affairs before she was with King Henry, but Henry denied her to marry Henry Percy, and James Butler (the two men she wanted to be with), so she went to be with King Henry VIII.

Reflection...

I enjoyed this project because I really like those ages, and I thin kthat the whole thing was really interesting to learn about and try to 'be' that person. I did A LOT of extra credit work on this project becuase I had a lot of extra time, so I wouldn't do anything different. This project was DEFINATELY one of my favorites because, like I said, I really like that time period, so it was interesting to learn about it.
