1a. I think that he doesn't have a very firm grip on the consequences. That's why he made all those kids do his work while he was getting paid.

2a. I think it means to beat someone up. When Tom was trying toscare that kid, he said i could lick you, then he beat him up, so I think it means to beat someone up!

3. Is Tom really into this girl, Amy?

3a. I think he's just a normal boy that doesn't have a clue. : ) I think he's just sorta obsessed.
