Immigration Reflection

Immigration is when someone moves to one country, from another. For example, if you lived in Brazil, then you moved to the United States, then you would have immigrated to the United States. People immigrate to other countries for many reasons. One reason people immigrate is to try to start over, to begin a new life in a new country. Sometimes people hear things about a certain country, and want to move there because it seems better than their own country. Some people don't like the way their country is run, or how their life is going in that country, so they want to go try another country.
Our country is ideal for many people. America is a 'free country', meaning that there aren't rules about which religion you can and cannot practice, and you have a LOT more rights than other countries give you. For many people, the United States is a new beginning and has a lot of opportunities for people who want to come here and start a life. The United States have been greatly impacted by immigrants, in fact without them, the only people that would be here are Native Americans. People from every country have immigrated here, and all of those people have contributed tons to our country. We've learned different languages, we have a wide variety of food from all over the world, we have different religions that are being practiced, and we have a lot more laws.
I, personally, have been affected by immigration because without it, I wouldn't be here- my parents' ancestors immigrated to America from different countries, and if they had never been brought together, I wouldn't be here. I also wouldn't have a lot of my friends, and I woundn't have all the different cultures in my life.
